Quintessential Conor
This is quintessential Conor.
1. Hanging out in his undies
2. Making a set-up or fort.
3. Sucking his thumb
4. Swinging Fawny like a helicopter
i love this little five year old. (But he really does need to stop sucking his thumb – he was on a good track at 4. Just while in bed and was going to give it up at age 5. Today I told him he needs to stop sucking bus thing and he told me he would stop at 8. When I balked, he compromised and said 7.5

Funny Conor
I was driving Conor to school this morning. He was talking about how there are two ways to spell mom (mum) and he shared:
”My brain knows everything. It sometimes tells me secrets!”
He is so cute. Sometimes a handful but definitely cute. Here are some cute pics/tidbits.

His ponytail / rat tail (Yes, a haircut is needed – I really want to avoid another rat tail in the house

Disney with Conor
Conor and I spent the day at the Magic Kingdom together. We started out with JACW and Nana to meet Mickey, but separated early on due to different ride preferences. Conor’s favorite was Goofy’s Barnstormer “scary but fun” which was Elliott’s favorite 8 years ago. We went in it four times – always in the lead car. Conor’s second favorite was Buzz Lightyear. He loved controlling the direction of the car and making me kinda sick.
On the way to the park, Conor talked the whole time. He has been watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Mickey Mouse Fun House. I didn’t realize he thought we were going into the Clubhouse. I tried to explain it would be like that – at one point while at the park, he asked where the Clubhouse was, and when I said it wasn’t there, he was okay. He also said, on the car ride, “Mom, if there is purple goo there, do not touch it!” I said, “I won’t touch any goo, but why is purple goo bad?” He said that purple goo makes you duplicated and there would be six mommy’s. I said, “Make sure you don’t touch purple goo either – I don’t think I could keep up with six Conor’s!”

Before the Speedway ride… which he hated (too hard to steer and not tall enough to push the pedal and jerky stop and start when mom steered)

“There’s Pluto AND Pete! Pete used to be a bad guy, but now he’s a good guy.” (Holding his special Mickey “credit card”)
This next series of pictures is from Goofy’s Barnstormer. I love the third photo!

Conor: “Mom, want to know a good thing and a bad thing?”
This is written by Erin:
Conor: “Mom, want to know a good thing and a bad thing?”
Mom: “Okay, sure.”
Conor: “Which one first?”
Mom: “Always a bad thing first.”
Conor: “I haven’t pooped in a really long time.”
Mom: “Aw, bud, I’m sorry. What’s the good thing?”
Conor: “I haven’t pooped IN MY PANTS in a really long time.”
Mom: “You’re right! That’s great. Good job. Do you have to poop right now?”
Conor: “Yes!” (Runs to bathroom)

The End of an Era. Bye to the Rat Tail after almost
After almost 4 years (March 2020), no more rat tail!! Here’s a brief clip of the video. We are in Florida for New Years. He cut it around 7pm (because we wouldn’t let everyone stay up until midnight) and then had ice cream bar to celebrate. At bedtime, he was having some phantom twirling going on! We texted friends in MA and family in WI. It’s going to be a surprise for Barrington friends

Happy 13th Birthday, Natalie!!!
Happy 13th Birthday, Natalie!!! (December 19, 2023)
How did we celebrate?
On Saturday, December 16, we went to Jira’s house to celebrate with her family. She made glass noodles and creme brule for you. Unfortunately, Conor got sick (stomach bug – very bad) within 15 minutes of us arriving, and he and I spent the rest of the time in Nana’s and Pop’s bedroom. You and Elliott did get to have a sleepover, so that was a bonus.
Then, on Sunday, December 17, you and I went to get your first facial. You loved it so much! She gave you suggestions on what to use on your face – I bought you some of the soap they recommended – but you also got so many facial products for your birthday, and I don’t think you’re following her instructions with one mask a week and sticking to the same products. Unfortunately, I started to get sick about 2 hours after we got home. You were supposed to go out to sushi dinner with Dad, but you wanted to eat Jira’s leftovers anyways.
And, then, on Monday, December 18, you got really sick. Oh no. You were home sick from school for your birthday. You were able to rally by the evening to open up your presents. No sushi dinner. No pumpkin cupcakes from me. We need to do both of them when we get back from Florida in January. I did make yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting in Green Bay.
Your big gifts for your birthday were getting your room repainted (I think you’re choosing cream), comforter (sage green), and from other people – tons of skin care products, a Harvard sweatshirt.
A list of your favorites:
Treat: Gum (despite having braces)
Movie: 10 things I hate about you is up there
TV Show: Walter Boys (Netflix)
Color: green.
Food: Avocado
Book: Blackbird Girls
activities: ballet (just restarted) and lax
Thing to wear: Oversized sweatshirts with Lululemon leggings or really short shorts, with Nike socks and white Converse high tops
