Chicago Shower Pics!

Thanks to my Mom and Aunt Lisa for coming to my Chicago shower too!  One of the gifts was a cute GB Packers outfit… which they insisted on buying in the 0-3 mo size b/c they are optimistic that the Packers will be going to the Play-offs!  After the game against the Vikings yesterday, Lentil agrees!  (Although she missed it, due to nursing class!)

AND, thanks to my Chicago girlfriends who came to celebrate – it was super fun to get together.  There were some mom’s in the crowd that had helpful advice to share, such as how to discretely use a Hooter Hider and what the heck a bouncey seat is.  A big thanks to Heather for being the hostess with the mostess!  Here’s a pic with some of the girls….

Finally, kudos to me for figuring out how to insert pics into one of these postings.  That’s a “best practice” from the Kennedy blog that we just love!

Happy Early Thanksgiving!

Everything is lookin’ good!

I had my 36 week appt on Tuesday, and thankfully, everything is looking good!  Lentil is head down, which is exactly where we want her to be!

She is also getting stronger… besides feeling those kicks, jabs and head butts only in the morning and before bed, I even notice them during meetings.  Which probably makes the people I work with uncomfortable, as I cannot help but shift around and feel them.  Esp. the new guy, who asked me in an email if we had emergency contact information around.  Silly me, I thought he wanted me to know his wife’s phone number, but clearly, he was thinking the reverse!

And, back to shifting, Lentil loves hanging out on the right side.  Its really bizarre.  Sometimes, my entire belly is visibly lopsided.

Also, I’m hoping to post pictures from my AWESOME Chicago shower soon – my Aunt Lisa took a few!  It was super nice, and I’m so lucky to be able to celebrate Lentil’s impending arrival with my Chicago girlfriends, aunt and Mom!

36 weeks!

Erin was 36 weeks as of last Wed, Nov 17, which has been added to our pregnancy time-lapse progression.  Once she hits 37 weeks, the baby is considered full-term and could pretty much come at any time.  Whoa!  Below is a picture of Erin today, and then two from  July 24 at 19 weeks.  That is when she thought she had quite the baby belly and was sticking it out.  Take that 19 weeks!

Steppin Out

Last Friday, Erin and I went to celebrate the 35th birthday of one of our friend, Liam.  I guess Liam’s grandfather was one of the founding members of the Racquet Club of Chicago, so that is where the party was held.  Fancy!  It was like stepping back into the 1930’s, and since it’s a “jacket and tie required,” it was a great excuse for Erin and I to dress up.  This was also Erin’s first visit to a Gentleman’s Club! 🙂 .  It was a really fun evening and we met some great new people.  Thanks Liam!

I wanted to show the world how fantastic Erin looked, even at 8 mos pregnant, but the pictures didn’t really turn out.  However, I didn’t want to give up, and thus, the pictures of her entering the elevator of our condo building.

Happy Belated Halloween!

This post is a bit overdue, but I wanted to put up some pictures from Halloween.  For Halloween this year, Bill & Tracy Boyd threw a Halloween party in the party room of their apartment building.  Actually, Halloween is kind of a big deal for them, and they throw a Halloween party every year. Last year, Oct 31 was the wedding of a college roommate and yes, even then they through a hotel room party between the wedding and the reception.

Halloween 2009

This year, Erin and I decided to be a “Bun in the Oven” costume.  It was supposed to look like this bun in the oven.   I was supposed to be in a “bun maker” costume. Well, it was a homemade job, a little ghetto, and a lot uncomfortable.  So I ended up wearing the oven box, and Erin was the baker.

Halloween 2010

It required a little explanation, but I think people got it.  Here is a picture of some of the girls.

Here is Steve, Jordan, and Brad…the guys who all randomly dressed in boxes.

And of course, we couldn’t forget He-Man and Shira.  aka Mike and Kat.

You can probably gather from the picture that 1) Kat is a very patient and good-natured girl  2) Mike is cold

And last but certainly not least, we have the prego ladies.  Touching bellies!  I love the belly-to-belly shots, but I am rarely successful in getting Erin to play along.

You can’t tell, but there are actually 6 people in this picture…two adults and four babies.  That’s right, one in Erin and three…count ’em…THREE in Aubrey.  Her and Brad are expecting triplets in February, two identical and one fraternal.  Assuming there is a boy in the bunch, we can betrothe him to Lentil!

Thank you Boyds for another successful Halloween!

1 month + 1 week to go!

We’re excited to share that Lentil has an older (second) cousin, William James Robinson.  William and his parents (my cousin, Kacie, and her husband, Tommy) live in Montana, so we’re not sure when Lentil will get to meet him.  Kacie and I are about 3 months apart and our babies will be only about 6 weeks apart!

At 34.5 weeks, Lentil is weighing in at an impressive 5 lbs!  Despite the increasingly cramped space, she is feeling  more comfortable, knowing that her parents attended a fantastic lamaze class at the hopsital (at which she was a very active participant, kicking and jabbing all around), and her mom has finally started doing her laundry. 🙂  (I suspect that doing her laundry won’t be nearly as exciting come February, but right now, the miniture-sized socks, scratch mittens and caps.)  After watching four videos about birth, I’m feeling a little less anxious for her birth and thankful that I still have about a month and a week to prepare for it!

I’m 33 weeks old!

Today marks the beginning of Week 33 for Erin, Lentil, and me.  Only 7 more weeks to go!  Give or take.

Lentil’s baby showers

Last weekend, Lentil had her first baby shower.  It was in Indianapolis thrown by my Aunt Stephanie (thanks, Stephanie!) and seemed like a really fun time.  This weekend, she had her baby shower with the Green Bay side of the family.  It was really nice of so many people to come in, and I certainly appreciated that Erin planned it to coincide with a Packers game.

The Hostest with the Mostest

That’s the only baby shower picture I have.  But I have plenty of Packers tailgating!

Lentil is 30 weeks tomorrow!

Lentil is 30 weeks tomorrow!  Yeah!  I just had a doc’s appt that went very well…. besides my platelet count being a bit low, everything is normal and uneventful!  (Knock on wood.)

Here are some fun Lentil facts:
– She weighs about 3 lbs (though her Mom has gained about 20)
– She is about 16 inches long
– Broccoli is her least favorite food.  (I plug my nose when eating it.)
– She hates the smell of coffee (sorry for any visitors – no coffee brewing allowed in the Linville condo!) and cigarette smoke (no surprise there!)
– She is most active right before her parents’ bed time.  She is also active in the early morning, if I don’t get up right away for a walk, stretch or really lame work-out on the elliptical.
– She’s getting so strong that I can sometimes see my belly shake when she rolls, jabs or kicks.  However, I don’t think she’ll be strong enough to force my belly button out (to Jordan’s dismay).

And, that’s pretty much as exciting as life gets when you are negative 10 weeks old.  Have a good day!

Coolest baby shirt ever?

While I know that there are MUCH more productive things I could and should be doing tonight, I could not stop the impulsive urge to create this baby shirt (shout out to Tom Doar for the slogan).   This is my first creation, and I think I will stop while I’m ahead.

Coolest baby shirt ever?  Perhaps.

If you would like to be Lentil’s coolest aunt or uncle, you can buy it for $17.95 on Zazzle
